Please join the Mesquite Arts Council as they present their first Tote-and-Go of 2024. On Mon, Feb 5 at 12 PM the Mesquite Arts Center will be handing out “Tote + Go” services inspired by artist Faith Ringgold and her quilting works + Rowan Bearden collage works. Both of these kits are created to celebrate artists who contribute to the history of Black History Month. This will include multiple projects for participants to choose from and the materials needed to complete them.

Please note: all kits will need a registration. If any kits are left over, they will be offered to non-registered people on a first-come, first-serve basis. We can not guarantee non-registered kits. We are currently experiencing a high volume of activity for this educational program. We encourage you to register on or before Tuesday, January 30, 2024. Any kits after Tuesday may be waitlisted or not available.


This week we will offer:
  • Felt Valentine Owls (8+ y/o)
  • Chocolate Chip Cookies (8+ y/o)
  • Valentine Foam Friends Magnet Kit (3+ y/o)
  • Cupid’s Arrow Wall Hanging (5+ y/o)
  • Focusing on the artists: Faith Ringgold
    • Black History Month Craft- 50 pcs handout
    • Narrative Quilts
  • Focusing on the artist: Romare Bearden- 50 pcs | handouts + cardboard
    • Black History Month Craft- collage works.
    • Designer, muralist, cartoonist, and costume + set designer.

This is a #FREE service, on a first-come, first-served basis.

DISCLAIMER: We are currently experiencing an increase in demand for this program. The first 100 kits will receive an art kit. After that, you may be wait-listed or unable to sign up for the kit. The survey will be turned off once we reach our capacity. We will try to accommodate as many as possible.
