Mesquite Community Band
Established in 1986, the Mesquite Community Band is a treasured part of the city’s cultural history and was the first resident group to perform on the Mesquite Arts Center’s Concert Hall stage when the facility opened in 1995. The band brings together volunteer musicians ranging from high school students to retirees, united by a shared passion for music and community performance.
Over the years, the band has entertained audiences throughout Mesquite and the North Texas area at a variety of events and venues, including the Mesquite Hot Air Balloon Festival, Mesquite Air Show, North Texas Area Community Band Extravaganza, Mesquite July 4th Celebration, Civic Expressions, dedication ceremonies, park concerts such as Music in the Park, and performances for local retirement communities.
The Mesquite Community Band continues to enrich the community through its annual concert series, including the Summertime Showcase held on select Mondays in June, along with seasonal Fall, Spring, and Christmas Concerts presented at the Mesquite Arts Center. Through its dedication to musical excellence and community connection, the band continues a decades-long tradition of bringing live music to audiences of all ages.
