The Mesquite Arts Council thanks our partners, sponsors, and supporters who help provide creative opportunities for families throughout the Mesquite community. Your support helps connect children and families with art, music, and hands-on learning experiences.
Program Overview
The Mesquite Symphony Orchestra (MSO) is a resident group of the Mesquite Arts Center. In Spring 2025, MSO requested support from the Mesquite Arts Council to create new ways to engage families before each concert.
The program began as a “Craft Zone” or take-home craft activity designed to help families connect with music and build excitement for upcoming MSO performances.
In 2026, the program expanded through a partnership between the Mesquite Arts Council, Mesquite Arts Center, Mesquite Symphony Orchestra, and City of Mesquite Library System. Activities are now offered through Library programs, including Homeschool Hangout and Young at Art.
Each activity includes:
- A hands-on art activity
- A take-home art kit option
- Information about the upcoming MSO concert
- A discount QR code encouraging families to attend the performance
- Symphonic music in workshop space
Community Impact
From February–May 2026, the Mesquite Arts Council distributed 90 art kits through Homeschool Hangout, providing families with creative learning opportunities.
Additionally, 180 take-home art kits are scheduled to be distributed throughout the Mesquite community from February–December 2026, allowing families to continue creating at home.
The goal is to provide 30+ art kits for each MSO concert cycle, helping more families discover the connection between music, creativity, and the arts.
Help Us Reach More Families
Together, we have raised $ 375 / $575 for Mesquite Arts Council's x Library educational programs. These donations were collected from beverage and snack donations, along with contributions from the 2026 bistro table fundraiser. If you are looking to contribute, please reach out directly to Mesquite Arts Center's staff at arts@cityofmesquite.com. 2027 Contributions begin November 1, 2026.We are currently seeking support to provide 90 additional art kits for Homeschool Hangout. A donation of $200 helps place these kits into the hands of local families (September $50, November $75, December $75), expanding access to free arts education and creative experiences.
Thank you to our donors, sponsors, and community partners for helping make these programs possible and ensuring that art remains accessible to families throughout Mesquite.
