Celebrating "Arbor Day" with Keep Mesquite Beautiful + Sharon-Neel Bagley

Date: Apr 22, 2023
Time: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

04/22/2023 | Just for Kids Workshop: Arbor Day Craft with KMB + Sharon Neel-Bagley

Please join the Mesquite Arts Council + Keep Mesquite Beautiful as they welcome local artist Sharon Neel-Bagley to instruct our Just for Kids event on April 22 at 10 AM at the Downtown Mesquite Farmers Market (100 W. Front Street). Kids of all ages celebrate the wonder and beauty of trees with Sharon Neel-Bagley. Sharon will have a variety of tree samples available, and you can capture the unique history of trees by making your own color hand-printed tree cookie. This is a FREE event and open to the public.

Sharon Neel-Bagley is an artist, photographer, and environmentalist. Her passion is for advocating for exploring the grassroots of urban climate change. Sharon utilizes a variety of mediums to capture her subjects. Trees are her focus, and her art practice is about how trees play a vital role in our communities in both a social and ecological sense. She has been working with wood collected from bulky trash to reveal the beauty in these discarded tree remnants headed to the landfill. Please see her website to see Sharon's work and learn more about her process.

Space is limited (50 children + adult family members), we ask that you register ahead of arrival. Please email us at arts@cityofmesquite for any questions or concerns.
