Please join the Mesquite Arts Council as we celebrate the closing of Corey Godfrey’s exhibition, Between the Folds, in the Main Gallery at the Mesquite Arts Center.

Between the Folds explores the themes of unraveling and revealing the depths of the female experience, using yarn as the primary medium on uniquely shaped wood surfaces. Through unconventional wood forms, cutouts, and sculptural attachments, the exhibition examines the complexities of vulnerability, strength, and beauty.
Several works portray women transforming into elements of nature, emphasizing a profound connection between the female experience and the natural world. The exhibition invites viewers to experience the gallery as a whole, with vivid, immersive works extending across the walls alongside conceptual pieces that draw the viewer’s gaze beyond traditional boundaries.
